I recently brought my trek 1000 bike overseas with me partially deassembled in a box. In the process of transport, the Y-shaped thing at the front (sorry.. no idea what it is called.. it sits on the front wheel and attaches to the handlebars at the top) slipped out of the bike frame. The various rings and ball bearings then became a bit of a jigsaw puzzle. I put it back together, but I've got the feeling that I stuffed it up: I had to buy another ring to make the handlebars sit at the right height (though one of these may have got lost in transport) and the steering end of the bike makes a 'clunking' sound occasionally when I go over bumps (this I really don't like).
If you can direct me on how it is supposed to go together / send me a diagram, I'd be much appreciative.
