  1. Hi All,

    Myself and some friends are planing on riding the south Island of NZ over summer, so we are looking at getting some bikes to do this. We have been looking at the Trek 4500 and the Gary Fisher Marlin. Both appear to be quite nice bikes with limited difference. The difference that I can see is:

    Trek = SRAM shifter
    GF = Rapid fire
    Trek = Simano Crank
    GF = Bontrager sport crank
    Trek = RS Judy TT Susp
    GF = Manitou Six Susp

    Being a bit of a begginer I am not sure about all of the components quality. So I was hoping some people who know a bit more might be able to identify which of the two would be the better buy? I can get them for the same price so price is not a questioning factor.

    Thanks in Advance.

    Dan.
