My son and I just purchased 2 2004 5200's. His is a 56cm with a S-6 Cane
Creek headset. Mine is a 52cm with a S-2 headset . Why the difference and
isn't the S-2 inferior to the S-6?

stainless steel balls. I use an S-2 and just pack it with tons of
grease.Maybe Trek couldn't get S-2s for a while and "upgraded" to S-6 in
order to complete the bike?
