i'm looking to upgrade from my trek 7000. i can get either of these bikes for the same price. which would be the better of the 2? i'm mainly going to be commuting/riding the bike paths or on my trainer.

i have the 7.2fx. i think i like it. i hate the cheap stock brakes and levers. -
you think you like it? hmm... i tried a marin kentfield today which was nice but didn't blow me away. i may try the kona tomorrow.

it's decently light, it's fast, the drivetrain is smooth, it handles great, the cable routing is cool, it's more comfortable than my road bike, i enjoy ride it, etc. but the brakes have really [censored] me off. i think that's likely a matter of installation rather than manufacture. i'd try it for sure.
