  1. I am looking at 3 bikes at the moment - Trek Madone 5.2; Trek Cronus Pro; Giant TCR Advanced 1. All 3 have shimano ultegra. Any opinions out there on which way to go???

  2. You need to ride both, and not around the parking lot at the LBS, ask the LBS to allow you to take all of them on a 5 to 10 mile ride EACH. Any decent LBS will allow that. Then take which ever one you find the most comfortable.

The Giant did get rave reviews at RBR, see: roadbikereview.comprd 419131 5668crx.aspx While the Trek 5.2 got slightly lower reviews, see: roadbikereview.comprd 338761 5668crx.aspx The Trek Cronus Pro got about the same level of reviews as the Giant but it must be a newer bike because the reviews are difficult to find, but there is this: forums.roadbikereview.comshowthread.php

    But again ride all three.

  3. thanks very much. I did ride all 3 and I found the Giant to be the best feel. It was very responsive and I enjoyed it. I was quite disapointed in the Trek 5.2 and Cronus Pro.

Congrats on your purchase!! That's a great bike from what I've read. I kind of thought the Giant would win due to all the positive reviews. Trek is not the company it use to be and you have to pay more just to get the name tag plastered on the bike. Giant is also the worlds largest bike manufacture, they manufacture bikes for other brands, so due to their more capable production system you can get a better deal.

I hope you had a chance to ride it a lot today. After you've ridden it for awhile, 3 months or so, you should post a review here on this site on the review tab and let us all know what you think.
