Enlighten us, what the heck is the Trek Pilot concept and where can we find it on line? 😕
Grazie!

Found it. http://www.trekbike.co.uk/2005/road_perf_pilot/index.php
Sounds more like a marketing gimmick to me - a bit of copy of the whole Rivendell (sp?) thing - you really want a super-duper performance road bike, but are afraid that your back cannot take it?
If you are so concerned with these kinds of issues, why not go for a custom frame?
Sorry, don't get it. 🙁

I know that a friend's bike rental/ touring company is seriously looking into getting them. Most clients are older but still want a road bike to ride (though not at break neck speeds). Makes sense for them. Custom frames would be a stupid idea.

Fair enough, but my understanding was that the OP was shopping for himself!
Lighten up and have a merry christmas! 😉
