Who's been following the Tri Nations? I missed the SA / Wobblies game, but did a lot of jumping and shouting during the SA / AB match last Saturday - Helluva game! I'm barracking for the AB's in the upcoming Wobblies showdown, but I expect the Aussies to come out hard. They always play well in the underdog position, while AB's have a tendency to go flat when they put on the Favourites Hat. Should be a great game.
What say you? Legend? Lim? Are you out there?

Being South African and all I'm hoping the wallabies beat the all blacks so we can take the tri nations trpohy home. Tough call though - the all blacks are playing some awesome rugby at the moment.

I think this may be the first time in my life I'm supporting australia.....

It should be a great match, Eldron. Australia has a great capacity to pick itself up and come back with a vengeance. The 'Boks have played a very impressive game. Having Hubana seeking those opportunistic intercept tries makes it very difficult to move the ball without risk. I think your 'Boks are the best team they've been in a long time and they're playing their style of rugby very well.

A moral dilemma for every aussie.Do we want oz to beat the AB's or do we want the boks to lose the Tri-Nations?

Kumate,kumate...........

Should be a good match on Saturday night. Will be watching it, just need to find some NZ beer in Melbourne to go with the kiwi dip and it'll be a great night to watch code.

Am a little confused as to why Fast Eddie has put Matt Rodgers in at 1st 5/8, when he's a specialist outside back? Surely this is a golden opportunity to blood some young players, look what happened when they bought in Horan, Kearns and company into the test match in Auckland in 1989.

It poses the question about the depth of australian rugby or has Eddie got it wrong and held onto the olies for too long, ie Greggan, Lackham, Mortlock.

GO THE AB'S!!!!!

Hey, Legend. How did you like the match last Saturday?
Result was what we wanted but the referee must have been watching another game. He missed a lot of off the ball stuff and if the South Africans were any more off side they would have been in a black jersey.

We were penalised for taking down the scrum, when it was our ball and we were on attack....how does that work?

But at the end of the day a wins a win and we won....so I was a happy camper.

I agree with all your comments. Plenty of penalties for **** all, and no attention paid to the offside play. Who's reffing on Saturday?

Not sure who is refereeeing this weekend, I'm assuming it'll be one of the South African plonkers.

The Wobblies aren't as inclined to be offside as blantly as the Yarpies. However our loosies will have to contend with Smith and Waugh, which could make life interesting. We need to put pressure on their inside backs and the game will open up for us.

That ref was hopeless.

Go the Wallabies :D

NZ is actually the East Island of Australia, so I've never understood why a Wallabies vs AB game is called an International rugby match  :p

Smith seems to have gone off the boil a bit recently. The Wobblies have got a bit of an aging workforce in there.

Yes, but his accent was very good.

Hmmm. They're leaving their run a little late.

With the so-called Brain Drain (Kiwi's leaving NZ to go to Aussie) of the 70's and 80's, our Prime Minister, Piggy Muldoon, claimed that it wasn't really a problem - Those of us who were leaving were raising the average IQ's of both Countries in doing so!

But their backs are leathal. Unlike the Yarpies back line that couldnt breack a leg on ice let alone an AB back line, the Aussie back line is deadly. If the Aussie's had a foward pack (thight five instead of just Sharp) they would be an awsome team. Imagine a game between the AB's and a team with Yarpie forwards and Aussie backs, that would be worth watching

There backs are what??? Are you reading from the same script, watching the same games as everybody else. When this year have the Wobblies backline shown any of there lethalness? They have lost the last 4 games.

Surely you can't blame all those losses on the forward pack. Now the 1st 5/8 for this match has never played in that position before, and he's a league convert. How much is the ARU insisting that Rodgers is played no matter what...next he'll be in at hooker.

LOL, yep, I can. Lets look at their forward pack.... Fatty dunning? say no more, Cannon? their best front rower but a peg or 2 down on the AB and Yarpie's. Young? worst front rower in the world bar none.. oposition tight heads have to try not to lough when facing this pigeon. Sharp? only true international tight five guy. Other lock? (Morgan?) cant even remember his name, say no more. Waugh? over rated cheat who is ineffective with a good ref. Elsome? pure dumb.. #8 = Joe Average. Best forward they have, Smith, (#2 open side in the world) doesnt even get a start..now that is funny....

When where the Aussie backs last lethal...Drew Mitchel was damn dangerous vs the AB's for one

Oops, Al Baxter, promising but not there yet :)

Today's the day. Knocking off early. Beer's in the fridge. All moveable objects have been removed from the area where I sit. TV has mesh screen in front in case things don't go well...

NZ won the Tri-Nations after beating the Aussies this morning ?
Didn't see the game (Mr Murdoch's SKY subscription channels have that tied up).
But I did get to see some of the earlier games.

I suppose Sir Clive will take some succour from NZ having won it.

I thought SA looked impressive (the few games I saw).
And noting the Tri Nations first XV, I would have had Montgomery in it and Bakkies Botha in it.

Just my view.
