I had a go at not moving from a 24/27 combo last week. It was
suprisingly fun! Pain in the [censored] having to spin like mad and top out
at 25mphish on the downs and boy did my knees hurt on the ups (lol) but
it was strangely satisfying.

Its just not the same unless its a true SS. Remove the rear derailluer, the
cassette, the front rings and the front the derailluer. Then you'll notice
the difference.
