Trump, Carson Phony Candidates? Maybe To Split The Republican Vote?

In 2012, Trump demanded Obama show his birth certificate. Could he fail to realize the Democrats would not have risked losing a shot at the presidency as well as millions of dollars without having privately ensured Obama was electable?

Trump's recent statements about Mexican immigrants could not have been more calculated to inflame and divide. Why single out one nationality? If Mexico is encouraging its problem citizens to emigrate, why couldn't other nations be encouraging some of their problem citizens to move out? And why make it sound like everybody is a criminal, not just a few? Last but not least, a real estate magnate would make lots more money if construction workers were readily available.

These two things almost seem calculated to appeal to a few while leaving others cold.

Now Ben Carson is in the news because he reaffirmed support for a position he took in 1998.....that the Great Pyramids were Joseph's granaries.

It is a folk belief among fundamentalists but has almost no support among the archaeological community.

I have a very negative view of most forms of politics these days and to me there isn't one candidate that stands out from the rest. It seems that these days, and for a number of years now the candidates aren't interested in what's important to the electorate, and its tirned into a publicity stunt for everybody involved.

The person the people like the most will win but that won't be based on any political agenda they put forward, it will just go off whos got the biggest personality and surely that's the last thing it should go off when your picking a person to run a country?

It's actually peaceful to not really know, not really care, and not really give a **** about any of this, which is where I am in my life. ISIS can chop heads and blow things up, the morons that pass for our leaders can open their blowholes and spew whatever comes out, the media can fawn on the latest celebrities who are famous for being famous, not because they actually do anything, have any talent, and they can surgically reattach to Caitlyn what they cut off of Bruce and turn her back into him for all I care.

It was 66 degrees here today with bright blue skies, and I spent the afternoon outside with my lab finishing up the yard work for the season and playing a lot of fetch and chase and tug games with him - I call him "the horse" because he is enormous, over 100 lbs, tall and very strong.

That is the stuff that is important in life - playing fetch with a big slobbery dog on a warm fall afternoon. I say let ISIS and Trump and the freak show formerly known as Bruce worry about themselves - I'm not.

I no longer think Carson is a phony candidate. But it does kinda seem like he wanted fundamentalists to feel at home with him by not merely subscribing to fundamentalism but also to their folk beliefs no matter how silly.

The Bible does not describe the granaries that the Pharaoh had built because of a prophetic dream by Joseph. There is no reason to leap to the conclusion that the Great Pyramids must be Joseph's Granaries.

Some Christians merely leaped to a conclusion when they found out about the pyramids.

About a thousand years separates the Great Pyramids from Joseph. He is thought to have arrived in Egypt about a hundred years after they stopped building pyramids.

I'm like the phone company, I don't care because I don't have. Once upon a time, oh so many years ago (2012), I was very different. I "sweated the small stuff" and worried about this and that half a world away that had no impact on my day to day life. I could be glued to the tv for hours watching towers fall, armies sweep through countries, or tsunamis sweep away cities. Then life through me an enormous curveball and all of that seemed trivial. Instead I worried excessively and obsessively about my new circumstances and what it meant for my future. I never dreamed I would be diagnosed with a potentially terminal disease, and I will never forget sitting in the specialist's office being told and going over the treatment plan like it was some kind of military strike.

Now I fully understand, and it's liberating. Worrying about things that don't affect you ... Pointless. Worrying about things that could but probably won't - be prudent but don't obsess. Worrying about the things that will get you, will come back to bite you in the ass - dumb. Worry is negative energy. Be proactive, do what you can, but then say "**** it" and go out and have fun. Enjoy life. That's why all of the hokey songs about "live like you're dying" - because it's true.

I know exactly how I'm going to die - brittle bones that snap like twigs, kidney lung and liver damage, leading to suffocation in my own fluids. Or an OD before it gets that far. C'est la vie, just how it works with these fun little blood diseases. Of course, I could get another curve ball - maybe a bone marrow transplant, maybe a semi will splat me on my bike. I'm old enough now to think 5 to 10 years is enough, I'd be perfectly content with that.

So much for my philosophy of life - it's sunny and beautiful here today and I play hooky from work whenever I want ... And I want
