g'day,

I bought a Giant CRX1 2006 a few months ago and love it. BUT... the TruVativ Elita Compact 9sp. Giga X crank/BB 36x50T has disintegrated! It started making a creaking noise shortly after purchase and now the crank moves lateraly. The shop techo told me that the spindle is pressed into the cranks and has had a major failure. He is unable to source a new one and is in the process of contacting Giant about the problem.

Has anyone else had a problem with the Truvativ? Is there an alternative to using this in the Giant CRX1?

cheers.
Tony

Shimano now have an Ultegra compact crankset FC-R700, (and integrated BB) 34/50 chainrings, 165, 170, 172.5, 175mm arms. Page 143 of the 2006 book.
