I got a flat this morning during a 50 mile ride. When I got home, I removed the sew-up which had previously been mounted with TUFO Extreme Tape.
At one point durng this mornings ride, it started to rain pretty good, lasted about 20 minutes.
As I was removing the old tire, I noticed that at each spoke hole, the Tufo Tape was wet and the adhesion failed. The tire was still attached to the rim between spoke holes, but I was a bit concerned none the less.
So I removed the front wheel tire and found that there was tape failure just as the first tire/tape failed.
Not sure that this would have resulted in any kind of serious accident, but it is something that poeple should keep an eye out for.
