Tullio Axls?

WHAT IS IT, AND WHY DO SOME FORKS HAVE THEM?

Hi M8,

less CAPS!!!!!, its a 20mm bolt through axel. Instead of a QR through your hubs, thicker and stiffer, makes your forks feel less flexy. tend to be used on jump, freeride, DH rigs, but not necessary for XC/ trail riding, and as with most things stronger they are heavier (but always remember the most weight you carry is your own!!).

specialised do a half way house with a QR axel on their stout hubs, suggesting they stiffen the forks, which I can only think is necessary if you run flimsey manitous or sids.

Stick with QR's, unless you go hard, in which case go with bolt through axels.

cheers, steve

The tullio axle is sort of a 20mm through axle with QR clamps instead of four allen bolts to hold the axle in

the advantage is that its way stiffer than a normal QR and still relatively easy to pull apart for transport

i've got it on my giant AC2 and it works pretty well
