  1. [font=Times New Roman]Hi All,

I have recently bought a bike that has 26x2.35 (massive! lol) tyres on it. I would like to by slicks or near slicks for it, as I use it primarilly for commuting to work and back. Please can you tell me where I am likely to find such wide slick tyres (Halfords??? ) or what I would "get away with" (!.9? 2.0? 2.5????) by way of other tyre sizes.

I have seen some very nice Michelins but they are 1.9s I think, and seem to be far to small. Once I have got the new tyres I shall go to halfords and by 2 of the "slime" filled inner tubes.

    Best Wishes
    Graham

  2. The size of tire is mainly influenced by the width of the rim used. Most dh rims(which it sounds like) can be used with 2.1 tires+- a margin. It is not as tight a tolerance as some would believe.

  3. if you want something in the intermediate tread pattern have a look at Continental Twister Pro tyres.

They are good and have kevlar protection against punctures....

Have a look on ebay and the internet generally - often much cheaper than Halfords...
