Following the first round of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup last weekend in Belgium, the United States womenandrsquo;s mountain bike program regained its number-one world ranking while the menandrsquo;s program dropped two slots to fifth. Led by Georgia Gould who placed eighth as the top American in the series opener in Houffalize, the U.S. is currently ranked number one in the world with 864 points. In the menandrsquo;s standings, after the best result was a 36th-place effort courtesy of Todd Wells, the men dropped to fifth place with 599 points.
