This might seem like a dumb question, but I just built up a new bike with Ultegra 10 and the rear shifts like [censored]. On a hunch, I dropped in a 9 speed rear wheel and I was right - the right shifter is doing 9 speed shifting. The hunch was based on only seeing 9 throws to the lever and the throws seemed slightly too big. Does the right U10 lever go both ways (9/10) and if so, how do you make the change? I doubt that's possible and guess I got a bad lever. Anybody have words of wisdom for this confusion?
