  1. I am having a problem with my left Ultegra Flight Deck brake/shifter.
The shifter will not tension the cable to allow the front derailleur
to shift to the big chain ring (not a big problem in late winter
    cycling, but by summer....)

Any solutions? Is the shifter user serviceable? If not, do I have to
    buy a new one?

    Thanks

The typical failure mode of a FlightDeck front shifter is to shift up to the
larger chainring OK, but not down to the smaller one. Are you sure the cable
    isn't failing?

Flush the insides of the lever well. check/replace the housing and
inner wire, making sure the BB guikde i clean, cable moving smoothly
thru it. If it is indeed the lever-warranty or throw away.
