Update on Polar Service

I posted here on the 9th of Nov about getting service for my polar 720i
watch, which needed a battery and a new wristband. I was disapointed that I
hadn't heard back from them before I posted, but I ended up getting a
response right after I posted here. I decide to go ahead and use the polar
service instead of having the battery swapped locally.

Well, I got the watch back today. It looks brand new! The cleaning works
exceedingly well, as mine had all kinds of **** in all the holes on the
back. They replaced the faceplate for free, too. Good thing because mine was
all scratched up. They upgraded (er, I paid for an upgrade) the strap to the
wearlink kind, but this one is even better since it is almost flexible the
entire length, rather than the older style that was rigid part of the way.

Battery replacement is $10, new wriststrap, $13, new T61 coded tranmistter,
$35, and new strap, $3. Shipping was $3 (standard), for a total of $64.

The summary report included on the receipt says this:
200 - battery weak or flat
149 - case leaking - leak not located
204 - wrist strap broken
195 - tranmitter failed electrical test
209 - elastic strap worn out

Apparently the battery they used is a CR2032.

The included items in service seem to be: checked/replace gasket, tested for
mech. damage, functionality test, water resistance test, replace batt adjust
contacts, replaced front cover (I wasn't expecting this).

All in all, I'm pleased. I rode a week with no HRM...big deal! :)
