upgrade my current components or just buy a new bike?

Earlier this year in May, I bought a Specialized Allez Sport, I wanted a decent entry-level bike to ride around in. Since then i've rode it way more than I ever thought. However, I think the components I have (mostly shimano sora) are sorely lacking. Im thinking I should just get the shimano 105s and upgrade everything, since the frame is still new(ish) and i'm very accustomed to it already.

At the same time, it strikes me as kind of dumb to pay for parts that will cost almost as much as I paid for the bike itself.

any thoughts?

Buy a new bike and then sell the Allez Sport, or keep it as your backup bike. You will become accustomed to your new bike as easily as you did the Allez Sport. You will save a lot of money buying a pre-built bike rather than building one up yourself.
