they aren't. I didn't think i would find any significant
difference at first , but the wheels felt so much smoother.
The hubs were one season old about 1000 miles
on them, they were in excelent shape, like new even
the cups and races, no signs of wear. I paid close
to $23 for the bearings and installation, still less
than buying ultegra and much smoother in my opinion.
