i purchased a giant tcx bike last May (entry level) basically for travelling to work. i wanted something that wouldnt puncture easily but not wanting a mountain bike i decided on a cross. i really got into road biking that summer, did my first 100km in 3hrs 30 mins. I want to make few changes to my bike and make it more into a road bike as i feel i can go faster. am i able to put road tires on 700 x 35 (im really new so excuse me if i sound dumb). what crank could i upgrade to. i dont have a crazy amount of money with just having a new baby. could i enter an amateur event on this bike, which would be my goal by late summer. im residing in ontario. i need durable tires for travelling to work but also for training. any help or tips would be great
