Using the Garmin Edge 800 with the MPower Performance Console speed and power sensors

I recently purchased a Schwinn A.C. Performance Indoor Cycle.


An MPower Performance Console is an available option, but I have not purchased it as yet.


My question is this:

Can I use my Garmin Edge 800 as the Console, if I can purchase the MPower Console speed/cadence and power sensors separately for the Schwinn A.C. Performance? The Garmin Edge 800 uses ANT+ wireless technology as well, and it displays all of the same information, so I believe this may be doable. The only issue I can think of... what will actually be displayed as speed, cadence, power, etc. on the Garmin when using these sensors.

Perhaps someone out there has already tried this?
