I'm tempted by a pair of track wheels (front 100mm, back 120mm). I would be using these on my Ciocc
1980-something fixed-gear road bike. Would I need to get a longer axle for the rear wheel? How would
I deal with the spacing issue? Is it easy?

Thanks,

Depends on the hubs. Many track hubs have axles long enough to be=20 spaced out farther. Your
Ci=F6cc is prob'ly 126 mm spacing (measure it t= o=20 be sure.) If so, a simple 3 mm spacer on each
side oughta do it.

Spacers should be installed between the locknuts and the cones.

If you need to replace the axle, you might want to consider converting=20 to quick release, which is
a nice feature on a road bike.

See also http://sheldonbrown.com/fixed for lots of info on fixed-gears=20 for road use.

Sounds familiar!!

I have this very setup-

You may be able to add 3mm of spacers to the track hub on each side(which is what I did-Suzue pro
track hubs) or cold set the frameset to 120mm...
