    Hi all,

I am rebuilding my hybrid mtb bike.

    I will be using

Shimano Deore M590 9-Speed Triple Chainset
    SRAM PG-970 9 speed cassette
    Tektro 926AL Mini V-Brake

I used to have avid SD7 with the brake lever, and the SRAM X7 3X9 Shifters and derailuiers. But I want to have it combined into one module.

Any good budget Shimano v Brakes/shifter and derailuier recommendation?

    Thanks!

Mini-Vs are meant to be compatible with canti/caliper brake levers, NOT regular V-brake levers.
You might find regular V-brake levers together with Mini-Vs to offer weak braking.
Since I haven't tried it myself, I can't recommend it.

The only thing I can suggest is to look for a shifter/brake combo where the brake lever can be set for either canti- or V-brakes.

Thanks for the reply. I looked at the avilio Altus and tourney, they are not good as the x7. I don't think deore has a brifters. Right?
