Value of a 2001 Trek 5900

Can anybody help with what the value of a 01 5900 would be? I know a
guy selling his frame because he's buying a Madone. This bike has been
heavily ridden by a smaller guy around 150 pounds from 01 to 04.

What's he asking for it? How much do you weigh? How will you be riding it?
How is it equipped?

All good questions. You should also take into consideration that you will be
buying a *used* carbon bike that has no warranty. Trek only offers its
lifetime warranty to the original owner.

He told me to make him an offer so I'm just trying to figure out what
it's worth. I'm only considering the frame and fork. He's keeping his
components as am I. I'm 190. We are both friend with the LBS owner
from which he bought the frame so I'm not too worried about warranty.
I believe this frameset was like 1700 back in 2001.

a friend of mine sold his trek 5900 last year. I believe he go $1000 for it.
my guess is a good price would be between 700-900$
