VDO handle bar holder defect

The fixing of part #1 to part #3 is kind of sloppy: on the bottom side
of #1 there are two protruding things that go in some openings on the
top of item #3. They form the only connection between #1 and #3.

Imho there is no other kind of fixing e.g. glue, and after a while, for
me the second time, it loosens with the result that that the MC1.0+
including the holder falls of the bike at a bumpy descent and gets
damaged by the fall.

I don't have the slightest idea how I can (re) connect these parts in a
durable way. I can buy a second handle bar holder, but who guarantees
that it then will not happen again?

Any suggestions more than welcome!

I know exactly what you are describing-I had the same problem with my
VDO. The parts are press-fitted together, and easily separated. A very
poor design, IMO.
I glued the parts back together with Super Glue "special plastic
formula", which comes in small tubes-also called Krazy Glue here in the
USA. This fixed the problem permanently.

Got the tip here in Dutch newsgroup as well to use glue, which I tried
with two-component glue.

Just leave it for the night and keep my fingers crossed.

Pitty that there are now some light scratches on the computer by the
fall :-(
