I noticed both the Spartacus and Spartacus Pro's on Trisports.com tonight as I happened to be browsing (i.e. killing time at work). Anyway, I cant really find anything on these, and I am currently in the market for something light-ish, stiff and durable (yes, i know the pick 2 of 3 line). Does anyone know where I can find some information on these, or should I just take the chance on them? The pro's were only $359, which isnt too bad....

They are Velocity Deep V rims with their in-house hubs and spokes.
I like the Deep V rims. I have heard both good and bad about the Velocity hubs and spokes. If you want a comparison of all "stock" comercially available Shimano Ultegra hubbed wheels, you can view my auction at URL:

My wheels are about 1/2 pound each heavier due to 12/8 more spokes and heavier hubs.

I have had very good luck with my Deep V rims, and usually end up coming back to them after trying other wheelsets. I haven't used a Velocity-made wheelset, but for what its worth I'd be all over Dave's wheelset if I were in the market for the same thing--I'd rather have handbuilt wheels by a competent wheelbuilder than a box set any day. Something to keep in mind is that with an aero (or at least semi-aero) wheelset, the weight makes little to no difference. If you want light and aero, then you need to spend a bunch more money than $2-$400, and get away from Velocity Deep V rims, cause they certainly aren't light weights.
