Photo: Colorado Women's Cycling Project</p></figure><p>A six-rider team made up of elite cyclists from Colorado has been invited to race the inaugural 2015 <a title="Women’s USA Pro Challenge reveals race route" href="" target="_blank">Women’s USA Pro Challenge</a> this August. The team is a collaboration between the Colorado Women’s Cycling Project and Spark Women’s Racing, Ltd.</p>
<p>“We had a dream and a goal of making an impact for our local elite women riders, and a dream has come true with the 2015 Women’s USA Pro Challenge,” said Robert Carroll of Spark Women’s Racing. “The women on this team are ready to show the world they really do mean business, and that women’s cycling is here to stay.”</p>
<p>“I’m thrilled and honored to take part in the inaugural Women’s USA Pro Challenge and represent my home state of Colorado at this fantastic event. It’s exciting to bring together six Colorado cyclists from various local teams to race together as Colorado Women’s Cycling Project p/b Spark Women’s Racing. This is an amazing opportunity to showcase the supportive Colorado cycling community and our commitment to developing women’s cycling at all levels,” said Kristen Legan from Boulder, Colorado and Evol Racing.</p>
<p>“Simply put, racing the women’s inaugural year at the USA Pro Challenge is an opportunity of a lifetime,” said Meg Hendricks (Groove Subaru-Excel Sports). “I feel enormous gratitude to the individuals who have worked tirelessly to make this happen, and I am humbled by the race committee’s selection and invitation to represent and showcase Colorado racing to the world.”</p>
<p>Kimberley Johnson is co-developer of the team and also represents Naked Women’s Racing and the Colorado Women’s Cycling Project. “We couldn’t be more excited that the U.S. Pro Cycling Challenge has demonstrated a commitment to women’s cycling by providing a multi-stage event for 2015,” she said. “We are anticipating an incredible show for the fans, and hope to inspire the next generation of riders. It is quite an honor to be part of this inaugural race.”</p>
