Lauren Hall sprinted to her first victory since February on Thursday in the Boels Rental Ladies Tour, getting the better of Italian Marta Bastianelli at the end of a 106.7km day. It was a rainy day on the narrow roads that are characteristic of the Netherlands.
Riding for the U.S. national team, Hall now holds second-place overall behind Bastianelli. The duo came home 22 seconds ahead of the peloton, which was led in by Kirsten Wild (Hitec Products), who earned third place in Tiel, Netherlands.
The race is a six-stage tour, which finishes on Sunday and will likely hinge on Friday’s 11.4km time trial.
