In a first for a UCI men’s pro road race, stage 4 of the Abu Dhabi Tour offered live, on-board camera footage for Sunday’s TV coverage.
Two live feeds were streamed from bikes belonging to riders on the Giant-Alpecin and Etixx-Quick-Step teams. Two pairs of camera-equipped riders traded off for each team: Etixx’s Stijn Vandenbergh and Lukasz Wisniowski, along with Johannes Fröhlinger and Tom Dumoulin of Giant.
The trial run is a result of the partnership between Velon and RCS Sports.
