Photo: Yeti Cycles</p></figure><p>With a burgeoning women’s market in the cycling world catching the attention of bicycle manufacturers worldwide, Yeti Cycles recently introduced the Yeti Beti line of bicycles made specifically for smaller female riders. Instead of creating entirely new bikes for the line, Yeti chose to focus on designing smaller sizes of its popular existing models.</p>
<p>The marquee Beti bikes are the SB5c and ASRc, both outfitted with SRAM X01 drivetrains and components tailored for smaller riders. A women’s-specific saddle and slightly narrower handlebars adorn both models to complement the new geometry of the smaller frame sizes. Yeti engineers also chose to tailor crank length and tune suspension to accommodate lighter riders.</p>
<p>Perhaps most importantly, each model features different wheel sizes based on the frame size. Extra-small and small sizes will run 27.5-inch wheels, while medium, large, and extra-large frame sizes will feature 29-inch wheels. The overall combination of frame and wheel size are said to maximize both stand-over height and handling.</p>
<p>Along with the new mountain bike offerings, Yeti has ventured into the apparel category with Yeti Beti clothing. Many of the colors complement or even match those of the bicycles, and the focus of the line is on fit and function. Yeti has been making women’s clothing for three years, but the Beti moniker is brand-new.</p>
<p>The Yeti Beti ASRc is priced at $5,799 and the SB5c has a price tag of $6,899; both models are available as of late June.</p>
