my rivendell romulus, which i bought this spring, came with
ruffy-tuffys, a tire rivendell praises highly. after 300 miles, i
decided to try something new. yesterday i mounted veloflex paves.
man, what a wonderful difference! i don't know how they'll hold up,
and the pave may have its limitations--for example, posters elsewhere
have said it's dicey in the rain.
but the bike feels so much faster and easier to pedal, with the tires
inflated only to the same pressure i used with the RTs. (i weigh 200,
inflate rear to 110 and front to 100.) for now, i'm really happy.
the RTs i'll keep around to re-mount when the rains begin, if that
proves necessary.
