This is an upgraded version of The Great Outdoors Grill Company Wide Body
Smoker sold by Walmart which sells for $128.00.

it because I couldn't get a low uniform temp, for what most of us use this
type of cooker for. The company sent me a replacement burner which still
didn't solve the problem. I think a smoker should drop below 200F for fish,
and warming if you want it to. This smoker just wouldn't do it. It wouldn't
get low enough for brisket, at least my brisket. I believe the Great
Outdoors Grill Company was just absorbed into, or was purchased by CFM, the
parent company that owns Vermont Castings because their own web site has
disappeared.

As you see from the Walmart page, the smoker also comes in a narrower size,
which for many of his might be preferable, and for under $100, it's a real
deal. The wide body version is pretty big for day to day use.
To chase this more before you buy, there is a yahoo group for this smoker.

I too would like to find a true set it and forget it smoker. I have and have
burned out an electric Meco smoker. A good gas smoker would be nice; I'm not
sure it exists.
