Biking and eco-friendly transportation is especially important, and people everywhere need to support this movement! I’m helping spread the word that VH1 is sponsoring a campaign called “Do Something”. Five cities have been nominated to win the $100,000 grand prize for their great contributions in fields like education, volunteering, and going green. Austin, TX has been nominated for their biking and green transportation efforts, and if they get the most votes, they could win! The money would go towards improved environmentally friendly transportation, so it would really benefit the world. If you want to vote for Austin, you can visit 2010 Do Something Awards | Voting | City | VH1.com! Let’s start the revolution today!

so wouldn't that award only make the "rich get richer", so to speak?

So to speak, but that's what awards do.

We give awards to benefit those that are already successful and charity to help those that are unsuccessful. Just don't be somewhere in the middle or no one will give a crap about you.

That's why George Babbitt was never terribly happy.
