    Vinegar comes from the French word vinaigre, which means "sour wine."
    It is an acidic liquid acquired from the fermentation of alcohol. It is
    used either as a condiment or a preservative. It has an acid content of
    4 to 8 percent. In flavor it may be sharp, rich, or mellow. It is often
    used to preserve herbs or for medicinal purposes. The vinegar most
    often used medicinally is Apple cider vinegar.
