Vinegar and Its Many Uses!

Acetic Acid

Vinegar comes from the French word vinaigre, which means "sour wine."
It is an acidic liquid acquired from the fermentation of alcohol. It is
used either as a condiment or a preservative. It has an acid content of
4 to 8 percent. In flavor it may be sharp, rich, or mellow. It is often
used to preserve herbs or for medicinal purposes. The vinegar most
often used medicinally is Apple cider vinegar.
