I must be very lucky, been to the top twice (once cheating via the
train (1999(?)), the other via PYG back via Miners last August) and the

Lots have done 0 or 1, that's routine. There are, however, few

they should be forgiven for making an honest mistake. After
all, it is sometimes difficult to work out where Wales ends

True. Actually it's not that bad now - you can walk until after 6
easily if it's not heavily overcast. Early January is awkward - I can
happily go to the pub at 4pm but it involves drinking rather a lot!

times i've been blown over or had to crawl, several times i've
been drenched with bucketfuls of water, but a few times....

Indeed. I was up there one cold January Sunday a few years back and the
clarity of the air, and the views, were astonishing. You could see the
whole sweep of Cardigan Bay, as well as Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Lake
District. It makes up for all the other times when I've been in danger of
returning with trench foot, or being blown back to England and wondered how
long it would take to walk back and get the car. And in one memorable case,
just what I was doing up there at 11 am on a wet summer Saturday with a
rucksack full of climbing gear and 11 peaks left to go.

Is that not where they get their ideas from..? Or is it Hain putting
his knowledge of apartheid South Africa to practical use.

All that Cold War spending and we wake up and find that the"guns were
facing the wrong way"......

The idea of enforcement is probably.. Get caught chatting and you can
then be locked up.

The lesser measures are terrifying.. We know the Enemy are using
Bogeymen as a reason to bring this in.. and we always know that such
legislation creeps... It willnot just be used against Terrorists...
