Completely slipped my mind to post about this, last week I'd done enough riding and decided to hitch a ride with Suzie who was at Caren's getting some coaching on Beach Road.
So I'm just done putting my bike in the boot of the car and a school boy asked me if the jersey I was wearing was a GVBR one. Told him it was Around the Bay in a Day, spent two minutes walking down the street with him listening to him telling me about his dad's fiancee who's doing the GVBR etc etc. Cheery goodbye as we went our separate ways.
It's only later that I thought about how incredibly suspicious that could have looked; hot and sweaty cyclist in Lycra chatting to a pre-teen boy he'd just met in the street.
