Does anyone know of any sites that cater for walking in France?

There are a lot of French walking clubs with simple sites on the web but whether they will be any
use to you is another matter.

The most simple way to be introduced to Walking in France is to get hold of the Lonely Planet
'Walking in France' guide. This covers most of the important areas of France. The Masif Central and
the Pyrenees are both well covered and both can be approaches by Ryannair from Stansted (Clermont
Ferrand and Pau respectively). Car hire is easily found here but - and far more preferable - you can
get to the hills by very effective public transport.

France has a lot of great walking country and you don't necessarily have to stick to mountains,
there are good walks in Burgundy, the Dordogne and the Lot and, depending on how long you are there,
you can link these up by either car or rail.

Give me an email if you want to know more.
