Please help me. My trusty road bike has a worn out Sachs 7 speed freewheel. The local bike shops can't source one and I don't want to pay >$A200 for a hub upgrade.

Does anyone know where I can find a new one?

try harris cyclery not sure on the link but if you search goolgle for harris cyclery its the first result. You can also try www.loosescrews.com they have lots of older parts. These are both mail order in the U.S. i believe.

Good luck
Tom

What's so special about a Sachs? They had the same spacing as shimano 7 speed(5mm), and standard threading, so there are plenty of alternatives around. If you don't have index shifting, cog spacing is not an issue anywy. You can find about anything on ebay.
