I've just changed to new Look PP206 pedals and Carnac shoes (size 43.5) on a 56cm RS-11, and now I
notice that the toe of the shoe hits the back of the front wheel.

It's not a major problem, just something new I've noticed.

Any thoughts on this? Is this "normal"?

    Thanks !!!

It's common on short wheelbase bikes like racers and fast sport types, especially small frames. It has nothing to do with your pedals and little to do with your shoe size unless you're a Sasquatch (43.5 is NOT); it is mostly a function of top tube length, fork rake, and head angle. Usually it's only a problem when you're doing a track stance or other very slow manuever because in normal riding the wheel never turns far enough to contact your foot.

The first time it happens in a track stance it can be a little un-nerving, but once you're aware of the problem you can usually avoid it or recover quickly.
