Well, it is about time (my luck has run out)

Well, I knew it was only a matter of time before I found some way to get
a pinch flat during my little jaunts around town. I've been lucky in
riding and not managed to get one on the trail...in spite of all the
single track, multi-use trails and so forth, it was a bloody freakin'
curb that got me.

Never fails, you come around a bit of a bend in a segment of blacktop
aiming for the next segment of gravel trail and you're not going fast
enough to single-hop the curb at the exit...and wham, rear tire meets
curb and you know right from the feeling of the hit that the tube is
toast...

At least I didn't do something really stupid, like doing a face plant
off of the bounce (that woulda hurt...I'd have been pulling gravel chips
outta my teeth for a week)...but sheesh, talk about feeling stoopid!
Nice slice job though!

Ah well, I'm gonna put my flames out with a little liquid refreshment
and maybe I'll get the embarrassed flush off my face before I head out
tomorrow. On the plus side, at least I got the tube changed and
completed my circuit before the weather got nasty.

Cheers,

Check that your rim isn't flatspotted, too.

Yeah, once I pulled all the rubber off, that's one of the first things I
checked in the light I had remaining. I looks fine and surprisingly the
wheel still spins true too. I'm not overly fond of the way the tire is
sitting....I think I have a bead not quite right...I'll pull it apart in
the morning to give it a once over in some better light and get
everything back kosher.

Enjoy the laff...I know I will when I'm a little less red in the face
because of it.
