Whhooaaaah..... Have you bugged my house ??!!!!
YOU'RE ON THE MONEY !!!!!

She's actually quite happy I've got it now.
I now spend more time riding than I do researching bikes & components !

But the kitchen thing was quite a debated topic !
You sure you haven't bugged my house ??!! :D

We should start a thread to the tune of "What did your partner want instead of you getting a new bike ??"

A. Kitchen.
B. Bathroom.
C. Holiday
D. New partner.
E. The house, Child support, and 50% of everything you own.

Whadd'ya reckon ?

Trust me, she only says she's happy, she'd still rather have a new kitchen/bathroom whatever.

Good idea for athread though!

Last year a 2003 LeMond Victoire on the road. (Will be receiving my '04 Tète de Course/Record group by mid Dec.). For chasing around the neighborhood with the kids a LeMond/Litespeed mountain bike. For offroad, a Specialized S-Works w/XTR. Up north at the lake, an old Trek 2500 w/7 speed Ultegra downtube shifting. (1 other Gary Fisher Mountain bike that may find a perminant home up at the new lake place next year).

cpa, how do you like the Zondas? I am 1 week away from a new bike. I was surprised at the picture you posted, since I picked very similar parts. My setup is Interloc Scandium frameset (polar white), 04 Veloce drivetrain, and FSA Pro Team crank. However, I can't decide on the wheelset.
1) Campy Zondas
2) American Classic 350
3) handbuilt wheelset, any rims, Centaur hubset.
All wheels are same price.

All three are so tempting!!!

the Zondas are great. Note they're the 2004 model, with radially laced front spokes. They look awesome, they're fast, and they're strong. Not the lightest wheel around (still v. light though), but a great wheel if you can only afford one set. And they've got the Record style hubs. buy them !

** afterthought : note that I've only had them for 2 weeks ! :D

Just got my new Colnago C-50 two weeks ago (one of the first in the USA) -- FANTASTIC bike !!! Also have a Dream Plus and Bititanio (hence the name).

All of my bikes have 700c wheels (mtb included):

Road - Orbea 2002 Altec2 w/ carbon fork (full Ult, Shimano R540 wheelset).

Mountain - Gary Fisher Mt. Tam_29 w/ marz. MXR fork (XT/XTR-rear, Bontrager everything else).

And the newest addition to my family o'bikes: my town bike is a Bianchi San Remo (ca. 198X) w/ a hodge podge of components, built up from stuff I had laying around (steel frame and fork, RSX rear der.; original Shim. front der., downtube shifters, and rear brake calipers; 105 crank; Ritchey MTB pedals; and I stole the drilled stem off of my wife's old Stumpjumper (hey, she never uses it anyway)). Check the attached photo. I am so proud of her!

In two weeks I'l be riding a Trek 1400. Just need some time off work to be able to get sized and to pick it up.
Currently on an old Pro Ace with Shimano Sante' running gear and mavic wheels. The Trek is so light in comparison, it will be like riding with a tailwind.

one at the moment

ON-One inbred (geared), hope minis, sram/rf, forge/syncros.
just a nice solid rigid bike for day to day riding.

Building
Ti inbred with fox floats, XO/middleburn, RF deus, RF carbon bars, thompson post, CK hubs/317, hope mini mono's and ck headset, plus all the tasty finnishing gear.

1) Malvern Star Outlaw FS (2002), Y frame duallie, 24spd Acera, Promax v brakes, Wienmann rims, RST281 front shocks (no probs so far), no name rear shock (don't think that's 100% anymore). This was top of the range Malvern Star when they actually got into something approaching reasonable mtb's. Stacked it a few times (once into a car...I think the driver will look when turning left in the future), but this bike always comes back for more. After clocking about 2000km on it, the chain has worn to the point where gear adjusment is impossible (what fun doing the Wollongong ride holding the shifter between gears half the time). The spring has snapped in the rear deraileur shifter just recently, and with tyres so worn now that the sidewall has split on the back tyre, it's time for a major overhaul. This is my main bike of choice and gets a lot of use around the Blue Mountains fire trails.
2) Malvern Star Hurricane AL (2003) rigid. This is my 'cheapie' (though top of the range in rigid for M.S) bike for taking on holidays etc, but actually turned out to be heaps better for road biking than the duallie. 21spd Shimano SIS, Weinmann rims, Shinmano V brakes.
3)Graecross 1-10 (1984) my ancient steel road bike with those wonderful friction shift gear shifters mounted on the stem.
4)Raleigh Chopper MK2 (late 70's). Needs major restoration, but good frame. This will get the attention when I do the Sydney ride :) This particular bike was made in Australia by Malvern Star under licence to Raliegh.

ok i ride trials so ive got a megamo team pro with chris king hubs, chris king headset, margura marta front and rear discs, try-all crank set with a raceface signiture bottom bracket

(i ride 20" not 26" cause im only lil (5 foot))used 2 ride an onza t-pro it was ****, im on designin my own frame at the moment.
