I've been getting Gatorade powder at Costco for less than I used to pay for mail-order HydraFuel.

I have a contact who can get pure maltodextrine (the basic ingredient foe Maxim) which is a
by-product from a potatoe processing plant in the north of the country. Three scoops (70g) in a
bidon is perfect for every one and a half hours of the race. If I still feel hungry I eat a half
banana. Never had any problems in all races upto 160km.

Dumbass -

No wonder your frame cracked at the bidon holder - three scoops adds too much weight.

Most people could handle at most half of that without interfering with hydration. Also, doesn't that
**** cause rust like a MOFO? IIRC, it voids most warranties too. The truth comes out...

Thanks Warren. I'll check it out. I used to buy Hydra Fuel energy for the Cal/$ rate of 441. I just
did a web search tho, and it seems like it is still being sold.

Gatorade at Costco: Less than $9 for a container that makes 9 gallons, or 144 servings of 50
calories (8 ounces) each, = 800 calories per dollar. Vada deal!

That is a good price, considering the premixed can be found on sale at Safeway for about
$4.00 / gallon.

$1/gal is almost as inexpensive as I've seen. Check out www.discounttool.com.

Kirby.

I know I am a silent bottom (English translation): I was trying to glue the frame back together with
the varnish-like coating this stuff leaves if you spill it.

I am obviously suing the potatoe which ended up in this powder: it should have carried a warning.
