I purchased a Motiv dual shock mens bike at Costco about a year ago. I like the bike in general. If your wife will never really go beyond intermediate rider its ok. If you are thinking about the mountain bike model (only one that I know of), I would put some street tires on the bike.

In answer to your question for further information on Motiv, I had the home page for Motiv bookmarked for over a year; and they seemed to be always trying to update the site (that was all the page said, no addition info, not even a contact #). I cannot find the page anymore so I guess that they gave up, or sold the company to another larger corp to mass produce under the same name. I felt that the bike was very heavy, in comparison to similar models in the same class (Huffy, and rest of the lower end ilk). Were it me, I would look at a Hard tail (front shock only) for her in the more reputitable brands. Giant puts out some good bikes for the price and they seem like they have proven that they plan to be around for future support. I hope that this helps you.
