Howdy all,

Im looking to get a low to medium end bike that I can use for both road and
dirt road. I have no desire to stump jump, go crazy down trails etc... Ill
leave that to the much younger and more pliable crowd. :)

I went to my local bike shop yesterday and they were having a sale on Haro
bikes. Being a pretty good sized guy, I appreciated the stout frame and
what appeared to be, quality workmanship. What is the general opinion of
this brand of bike? Thanks for your input.

If it fits you, it is good.

I rented an Escape 8.2 a couple years ago, since discontinued. Fun
bike.

I owned a 20" 2004 Haro XLS R5. Great bike for a single pivot.
Bought in 04 for $899. Sold 2 weeks ago for $400. Pretty good resale
value considering I rode it hard for 2 years. I just purchased a Haro
Sonix. Great cross country bike, but still great on the downhill.
have rode three times and love it. It climes like a hard tail. When
I stand up on it going up hill, i rarely get the back wheel to slip,
even in soft dirt or rock. Rolls right over the bumps, not into
them. I highly recommend the Haro Sonix. It is very comparable to
the Santa Cruz Blur, but for a lot less money. Good luck!
