What is up with Andy Schleck?

Cadel knows he doesn't quite have the juice, but I can't think of anyone who's more capable of fixing that.

Indeed. What a work ethic and Cadel has the talent to apply it too. I think he's going to be the horse in the race...if BMC can put the help on the roster.

To bad Robert Millar is not in the game anymore. Wiggins, Millar, and Cav on the podium in Paris would have had the French dropping a collective deuce in their shorts...

On the Dauphine telecast, Liggett basically said he's gone from a wheelsucker to a cannibal.

When Cadel meets Wiggins and the two or three others that might contend, we're in for a hellova race.

I always thought of Cadel much like I thought of Basso, competent, but lacking the killer instict of Armstrong or Hinault.

Andy impresses me with his climbing abilities and very little otherwise. He said that a lot can happen in three weeks. True, but can he go from performing mid-pack to the guy that went toe-to-toe and shift-for-shift with Contadope without travelling to see a Spanish OBGyn?

Cadel already MET Wiggo, that didn't turn out too well for him (though that was mainly due to Wiggo blowing the f*cking doors off in a time trial). Sky just dominated in the Dauphine....of course, dominating a 1 week tour isn't quite the same as dominating a 3 week one, and as many have pointed out above, there's the "Cav Problem" to deal with as well.

Sky may end up with too much on its plate and overextend, leaving BMC and its singular focus an opportunity.

Or Pierre Roland could be the next Eddie Merckx, who f'in knows? The only thing that would disappoint me is a boring TdF, because there is a such a variety of ways it could play out, with a good 6 "real" contenders riding, that there should be plenty of fun drama.

1' 26" down in a training race ain't too terribly far back. And Cadel did suffer in the TT. He seemed to recover after that.

Now, if Cadel were riding like Andy....

Cadel is more likely to train up for the Tour than Andy IMO. And if Sky takes a sprint train to the Tour instead of climbers...they're nuts.

Frank's shoulder must be feeling better. He's in the green at Suisse.

And Sagan! Three wins there after five in Caleefornya.

Wiggins might make the TdF podium, but I don't think he'll be on the podium, in Paris, wearing yellow. I don't think Cuddles showed everything in the Dauphine, and I also think he has yet to peak. I don't know how wise it is to support a guy for the green jersey and a guy for the yellow. At first blush it doesn't seem the wisest of ideas.

cyclingnews reporting it's time to scratch andy from the start list due to a fracture in his pelvis from the dauphine crash. i'm betting the hog is peeling the paint off the rec room walls with this news.

Agreed.

Agreed. Unless Sky, or anyone, can bring a truly stellar combined squad to the starting line AND stay both lucky and healthy thru the three weeks, the odds are against backing two riders. Now 'if' a Merckx clone shows up for a grab at both or all three jerseys (a young gun going for all four?!?!) all bets are off, but I see no champion riding in on his white Dodge charger and taking the whole house down.

Jeezus K. Rist! Did I just agree with dillweed TWICE in one post???!!! Someone...quickly! Check the weather in Hades! /img/vbsmilies/smilies/smile.gif

Examinations have shown that he fractured his pelvis and will be out for six weeks, tageblatt.lu reported. According to rtl.lu, he fractured a vertaebra which is part of the pelvis.

Please...allow me to translate this from the purposefully vague and misleading Euroese into plain Engrish.

"Yohan kicked Andy in the ass yesterday morning when Andy demanded he be allowed to only follow Frank's wheel until being dropped. The resulting blow bruised not only Andy's fragile ego, but his coccyx. Young master Andy is prescribed to sit on nothing harder than a pillow for two months."

ESPN Classic Channel here in Europe is showing a 1-hour Andy Schleck Special at 20.00hrs GMT on Wednesday 27th June 2012.
