Muni weekends here usually look like a 661 convention.

What, no mention of Fox?

Their 'North Shore leg guards'
(http://www.bicyclebuys.com/item/0750147PART) (link to random
distributor) have one design element that is much better than Roach /
KH / 661, and that is the solid shell over the knee. That's my one
gripe about the "other guys'" armor... two plastic strips don't provide
much protection for my kneecap!

Rockgardn

I have a Rockgardn Flak jacket, with matching knee/shin guards. But I
never wear the jacket, only the knee/shin guards. Uni'ing or b*king.

cant agree with that... guess you never had a very big bail with the
661 and/or your KH. Theres a big difference.

The quality and the protection from the KH is way better. With my 661 i
always had bruises in the front and pedalbites in the back... that
never happened with my KH since i ride with them.

You must be talking about some other type of Roach pads. This is why I
chose Roach pads they have hard shell protection that slides over rocks
instead of grabbing on them, then sliding down my leg, leaving my knee
exposed.

661's all the way.

I don't usually go that big, so they work fine for me.

I have found that the best Knee Shin pads to use are the Azonics. They
are tough and flexible. They are very easy to put on and take off. They
totally wrap around the calf giving great protection to the calf as
well as the shin and knee. Many people at FLUCK were interested in
them. The only con is that they can be hot.
