Naked titanium, brushed with a light coat of wax to keep the fingerprints off. Classic geometry with straight, round tubes. Black and white decals, Campy components, monochrome all the way around.

I love classic frames with deep section wheels as well as TT bikes. I like the big tube look because there's more of the bike to show off. :)

An aesthetic treat alright. Very different. But how do they go, stop, and handle? Those are three qualities that are very much part of the beauty of a bike.

The whole package...when you look at the bike you either think that it is beautiful or that it is not. Personally I find beauty in most things...it is in the eye of the beholder;) It does not have to be an exotic bike costing $9000...

It's not everything, but exceptional welds are sure purty. Here's mine (Moots):

Nice! No question that Moots make some beautiful Ti bikes.

I think the beauty really comes from the rider's relationship with the bike, if the rider has put in the miles and uses the bike for utility, recreation, training, racing, whatever, the connection shows through beyond just the appearance.
For me, it's always been a bit on the Italian side, flashy and elitist enough to draw stares when the bikes are parked, stopping some in their tracks to ogle.
But I ride these things in the rain and dirt nastily and do not pamper.
The bike is only a vehicle for the ride anyway, and as such cannot fully define the beauty of the ride itself.

I've found the matte finishes on the new TREK models for 2005 to be especially beautiful. So much so, I bought one with that option. My wife, on the other hand is getting the gloss finish [she prefers it].

A 10 year old polished titanium road bike with every sticker removed. Simple clean and metallic.

Jan Ullrich's bike from last year is the best looking bike I've ever seen. especially the agressive looking stem/handlebars/brake levers set up.

What makes a bike beautiful when it's pink? A matching pink Audi of course.
