What year manufacture of Tange 21" frame?

Going by the assembled bike photos and components, it is from the mid to late 1970's.

Is it a 5-speed or a 6-speed? What make crankset and rear derailleur?

The right side fork mount for a headlight bracket is a typical 1970's English market feature.

Tange and Ishiwata both made a full range of tubing, from seamed/welded gaspipe to triple-butted chrome molybdenum. Going by the level of components hung on the frame, I would guess it to be a closer to low-end straight gauge tubeset. It could be 1020 and it could be chrome moly. Ringing the frame might tell you something about the alloy and butting. An alloy gun, spark test and Panametrics wall thickness gage would be more definitive.

Thanks for replying Campybob

The BB is Sugino Japan. Don't know if it was 5 or 6 speed. Rear derailler Sach Hurret. Crankset A.ero. Seat post Sturmey Archer.

Yes it does have that 'ting' to it. 600g seems my best indication, or?

Cheers

Your Huret-Sachs Eco-S rear derailleur dates to about 1983-1984, so perhaps it is a bit newer than I estimated.
