The rear wheel on my bike shimy's a little when riding, it doesn't appear to do it when i stop and lift the wheel off the ground and give it a spin. The wheel has only about 100 miles on it as it is nearly new. I have checked the quick release for tightness and there appears to be no lateral movement in the hub bearings. The wheel is true also as when you spin it in the frame there is no movement to either brake shoe and they are about 1-2mm from the rim. they are cartridge bearings.

what wheel is it? - the rim, the spoke gauge, the hub model, and what frame do you have? what size?

I'm going to take a wild guess and say to check that the wheel is setting in the drops correctly. 2nd, check the symmetry of the wheel....take the chain off and flip the wheel using the brake pads as a guide. If none of the above, have a friend ride behind you to view the wheel movement as you ride. -tom
