Where are you from, what do you do?

I have just joined cyclingforum, having discovered it when I googled "saddles". What a find!

I have been cycling regularly for about 16 years, starting with serious commuting cycling while living in Munich. I now cycle because I enjoy it and as part of my effort to become a triathlete (three sprints completed so far).

I am recently retired, but have encountered a problem that sometimes afflicts men of a certain age, that has to do with saddles and riding comfort.

I am currently not cycling, but will resume in about two weeks, following prostate surgery. I have just purchased a Trico Split-Rail saddle, with adjustable width and tunable frame. I hope this works, but would appreciate others' experiences who may have similar issues.

If you prefer, feel free to contact me directly at [email protected].

I live in San Diego, CA and just joined this great forum this AM. I currently am out of shape and began riding my Trek 7500 again this Tuesday. I have a '03 Postal Edition Trek 5900 waiting in the wings (when I can get my weight down some) and I just bought Bontrager Race X Lite Carbon Aero wheels for it and am looking forward to using it/them. I also have a Kestral Carbon Spectra 4000 that I used to do triathlons and biathlons on years ago and a LeMond Zurich that I rode for around 200 miles until I bought the T-5900 and fell in love with it (the Zurich has been pretty much relegated to my indoor trainer, which is kinda a shame because it IS a very nice bike). I am also interested in getting a Cervelo P3C in the future and getting back into biathlons and triathlons, BUT I prefer to stay on the bike. I hope to be able to join some club rides in the SD area in a month or two. I enjoy riding from South San Diego to Coronado via the Strand. I'd definitely be interested in joining anyone wanting to "buddy up" on some rides in a few weeks (after I get my mileage up a mite more and get some conditioning back so I wouldn't hold anyone back:eek:)

Hello everyone..

I recently found this site and have been lurking for some time… Today I finally decided to join up and wanted to say HI!!

I have been cycling on and off for a few years. Had to put it on the back burner as I was going to school and working like a dog. Now, school is over and I have the time to invest. I also recently moved to the Denver, Colorado area… noticed lots of nice roads to discover… Well, that’s about all for the intro..

Also wanted to say Hi to my fellow Denver riders… I live in the Cherry Creek area, anyone else?

I am from Elmont New York and I ride my bike to stay in shape and b/c it's what I love to do most. I don't have much time to ride currently but in a normal week I would ride at least 100+ and that's a lot for kids my age(15). Most of my friends are amazed at how far I ride, especially when it's as hot as it is these days, about 95 to 98 degrees.

Thought the crx2 is more of a high speed commuter or touring bike. Either way it is a good bike.

Dont forget to ride side by side, not single file on those roads;)

You may have seen an email floating around about making huge amounts of money through your Paypal account? Whether you have or not, i'm sending you this to tell you that the scheme actually works and Paypal have actually admitted its legal!
Please read on and see what you think. If you want to participate, please just copy this email, replace my message with your own and send it to all your contacts - *YOU CAN GATHER ALL PAST CONTACTS EMAIL ADDRESSES THROUGH YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT HISTORY*.
Before we go any further I would like you to know straight away that this will cost you £3 and about 20 - 30 minutes of your time. If you are still interested please read on.
Now I am not promising that you are going to make £££££'s in 30 days but I must admit the odds look excellent, and the 2nd excellent thing about this business plan is that it can be done by anyone, anywhere in the world and your total investment stays at just £3.
These are some of the emails and proof that I came across which finally made me decide that I wanted to try this.
"What an amazing plan. I followed the instructions just 3 weeks ago, and although I haven't made 10 grand yet, I am already up to £6,135. I am absolutely gob smacked" - Alan Humphries, Leicester
"Well what can I say? I sent out 40 emails like the plan said then I just forgot about the whole thing. To be honest, I didn't really think anything would come of it, but I checked my Paypal account a week later and there was over £3000.00 in it!!! After 30 days I now have over £11,000 to spend" - Lisa McDonald, Northampton
"I was shocked when I saw how much money came flooding into my Paypal account. Within 3 weeks my account balance has ballooned to £7,449. At first I thought there had been some kind of error!" - Richard Barrie, Cirencester
Well that's it. I hope that you decide to go ahead with it. If you decide that this isn't for you I wish you all the best in the future and please remember you can always pass it on even if you don't wish to do it yourself.
INSTRUCTIONS
the first thing you need to do is send a £3.00 payment from your Paypal account to the FIRST email address in the list below, along with a note saying "PLEASE ADD ME TO YOUR LIST". Instructions on how to send a payment are under "SEND MONEY" at the Paypal site. It is very easy.
The current list is:

The last thing you need to do is copy and paste this page (and make any necessary changes) Remove the email address from the number 1 spot, move all the others up a space, and insert your own email address in the number 5 spot Then send the page to as many people as you can,a good way is to send it to all the people in your paypal history. (N.B. You should see the email address of the person who sent you this at the number 5 slot. If it's any further up the list, someone has cheated and may only receive a few pounds) You may also wish to advertise this on message boards, auction sites etc In no time at all,you should have reached the number 1 spot and the money will start coming to your paypal account !!!!!!
ALL I WOULD LIKE TO DO NOW IS WISH YOU GOOD LUCK
Send £3.00 payment here and get the £ ball rolling
IF YOU ARE STILL UNSURE OR EVEN IF YOU WOULD JUST LIKE TO KNOW HOW THIS WORKS PLEASE READ ON
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS
When you send out your email, your email address will initially be at No 5 on the list. That is the best position that you can be in if you want to earn serious money. The response rate for this program is much higher than any typical email marketing campaign for a number of reasons, which are explained later on. As long as you send out your emails to people whom are likely to be interested in this program, then on average you can expect a response of around 25%. But let's be extremely conservative and assume that the average response rate is 12.5%!
If you send out your 40 emails, you can expect at least 5 of those people to do exactly what you did (12.5% of 40 = 5 people). By the time your email address will have moved up to No 4 in the list, and this list will now have reached around 200 people (5 people x 40 emails = 200 people).
Out of those 200 people, you can expect at least 25 of them to participate (12.5% of 200 = 25 people) so you are now reaching around 1000 people (25 people x 40 emails = 1000) and you are now at No 3 on the list.
Out of those 1000 people, you can expect at least 125 of them to participate (12.5% of 1000 = 125 people) so you are now reaching around 5000 people (125 people x 40 emails = 5000) and you are now at No 2 on the list.
Out of those 5000 people, you can expect at least 625 of them to participate (12.5% of 5000 = 625 people) so you are now reaching around 25000 people (625 people x 40 emails = 25000) and you are now at No 1 on the list.
Out of 25000 people, you can expect at least 3125 of them to participate (12.5% of 25000 = 3125 people) so since you are at the No 1 spot you can expect to receive around about £9,375 (3125 people x £3.00 = £9,375)
So when your name hit's the No 1 spot, it will be YOUR turn to collect the money.
Over the course of 30 days, this money will be sent to you by a few thousand people just like yourself, who are willing to invest £3.00 and 20 minutes of their time to receive around £10,000 or more in cash. The first payments will arrive within a few days and then they will continue at the rate of about 100 payments per day for about 30 days (obviously this will depend on how quickly you act and how quickly people take you up on this offer and then pass it on). After that time, the volume of payments begin to taper off as your email is removed from the No 1 position.
That's all you need to do! There will be around £10,000 in £3.00 payments waiting for you in your Paypal account within the next few weeks. £10,000 for just 30 minutes work! This is real money that you can spend on anything you wish! Just deposit it to your own bank account or spend it directly from your Paypal account!!! It's just that easy!!! I think it's WORTH IT, don't you?
Remember, the 12.5% example above is assuming that 35 out of the 40 people you send your email to will do absolutely nothing except delete your email. However, if you follow the plan correctly and send your emails only to people who are likely to want to participate, you can expect a typical response-rate of around 25%. Hence, the 12.5% example is only given as a worst-case-scenario. Additionally, the above example assumes that each participant will only send out 40 emails. Imagine what would happen if each participant sent out 1,000 emails instead of just 40! Believe me, many people will do this and much more!
Unlike many other MLM programs, this 5-LEVEL PROGRAM costs you only £3.00 which is much more realistic and provides much, much faster results.
Only the first person on the list gets your £3.00/$5.00 gift, but everyone in the list will rise to that Number 1 position as thousands of emails are being sent out. No cheating can occur (don't be fooled by claims that this system can be cheated) as Paypal only allows one account per person. Because it is so easy, the response rate is VERY HIGH and VERY FAST - Internet email FAST, and you will start seeing dramatic results in less than one week! JUST IN TIME FOR NEXT MONTHS BILLS!
Thank you, and good luck in your ventures Ps . You can download your paypal history as a MS Excel file, this is a great way to quickly access all your stored email address's from your paypal transactions, to send this email on to others

I am currently living in Texas after 9 years of travelling and living all over. Originally from the backwoods of Maine. I work as an athletic trainer (i.e. I fix broken athletes!) and I love it. I've always been a running nut but have recently taken an interest in cycling. Joined to check out a posting but I guess I'll stick around for a while now that I'm here!

I'm from Reno and I'm a coffee jockey. Just bought a bike a few months ago and have never felt so free...the only problem is it keeps getting vandalized. So I joined here in hopes of technical help. I don't really mind my bike being messed with, by the way, since it has helped me to learn a little mechanics so far. :) Still sucks though.

Ello everyone, Im from michigan and am new to cycling as anything more than a form of transportation. Im currently using cycling as a way to get in shape, and hope to get into it competitivly.

Hey everyone,

Im from Hamilton in Scotland, and am relatively new to cycling. I wanted to maintain a reasonable level of fitness and try and be more environmentaly friendly so ive started commuting on a Scott Sportster P5 ( a hybrid)...my first bike since i was like 15. I COULD NOT BELIEVE some of the prices of the better bikes.....im obviously getting old. The P5 is bit more robust....in my mind if nothing else. The road bikes im just sure would not cope with some of the potholes im hitting.

Its a 28 mile or 45 km commute. At the moment its taking me an hour to go one way (14miles). Hopefully this will improve a little once i get into the swing of it. I work a 3 shift system and generally travelling off peak apart from after a night shift. But as im travelling out of the city then, its no problem ...yet. Travelling through a few hairy bits at night.....just makes you go a little faster.

Im not sure how this is going to go. I mean to do this as far through winter as possible too.

Really looking to pick up on advice on the forums here... my biggest worry is breaking down through puncture. Im saying that but i have to admit ....my cars have never been too reliable.

Im not really into cycling for pleasure. Although i do get a lot of pleasure out of it at the moment. I suspect that will wear off when leaving for a nightshift in the middle of winter.....

Anyway im here now and hopefully ill stick with it.

The Cross.

Hey, I'm Panos from Greece (Thessaloniki) 20ys old and studying physics.

I cycle (an mtb Fidusa. greek handmade bikes) for fun but lately I really want a roadbike for long distance tours or/and brevets (after a lot of practise ofcourse).
Unfortunately they r rather expensive for a student and a rookie bike of 500euros is not an option cuz in some months I'll have to re-pay for some better equipment. So, Im just waiting for a good opportunity on ebay. Though, if my patience's been exhausted I may reconsider my opinion about rookie bikes. :)

So that is my fascinating story :p
